Question for the Weather People

We hear words like “climate change” and “global warming” thrown around a lot these days. While I wouldn’t describe myself as an “warming” denier, I am very skeptical of the agenda fronted by many of the Leftist environmental organizations out there.

It seems that these radicals begin with that assumption that emissions of “green house” gases lead to a general warming of the Earth. While they may not discount it, they never really explain the effect of emissions on the pressure gradients.

As a Texan, I’ve suffered through some pretty hot and miserable summers. I’ve noticed that periods of extremely hot weather–days with highs 100+ and lows that don’t get below 80–are due to high pressure ridges/systems. The brutal heat continues until a low pressure system comes along that is strong enough to overtake the high pressure system. At this point, you usually get some nice showers and storms and the temperature drops.

If we assume that man emits “green house” gases. What effect do these gases have on the pressure systems? Is there an established correlation between the two? If man emits more gases, will there be more, stronger, longer lasting high pressure systems?

Please. The people who study climate are the ones most worried. I live in Texas where 23% believe Obama is a Muslim. Same people deny global warming, then wonder why we’ve had 102 degree weather for weeks now.

Don’t be dumb. Ask a scientist. Right wingers always trust scientists when they want to blow up the world and arm dictators, but when it comes to issues that threaten their oil money . . . .

God, people, read some science journals, not Rush Ditto-head trough feed.

    hey,

you misspelled “Leftist Environmental Organization” in your tags. Shows which right-wing denialist tripe you are reading.

sadly, you’re not even getting part of the billion dollar denialist publicity budget. Are you?

As for your “scientific inquiry,” the warming of the atmosphere and oceans as well as the doubling of CO2 does not explain the particular high pressure system of this particular week. Just like smoking cannot be blamed on a particular case of cancer (where’s the proof), you can’t prove that a pressure system is directly linked to co2 and methane and CFC emmissions.

But we know if you pump up the atmosphere so much with these gases that there is still an ozone hole the size of a continent and that the level of acidity of the oceans – the oceans! – have increased, then you are going to cause havoc with melting glaciers, pressure systems, oceanic “conveyer belts” etc.

We’ll likely be lucky and not suffer extreme circumstances, only our kids will. And the right wing is right about that. who cares. why am i wasting my time here on this blog? because I was looking for any one with the guts to ask is this global warming?

NO there is not. The Right’s campaigns have succeeded.
    Congrats.

See you in hell. Here. Texas.
